For roughly two weeks each spring, the Tidal Basin turns pale pink and the whole city seems to know it — the crowds along the water are the thickest of the year. From the deck of a private yacht, you get the bloom without the shoulder-to-shoulder walk around the basin.

Peak bloom typically falls in late March or early April, and it happens to overlap beautifully with sunsets that are already climbing later into the evening. A cherry blossom cruise catches both at once — the pink drifting along the Tidal Basin shoreline and the monuments turning gold behind it.
